I saw this video at my church...pretty relevant as you think about how "traditional" institutions will effectively reach out to a generation living in a world that very few of us would have imagined 25 years ago.
I am a mother of two amazing boys. I have spent the last twenty years married to the love of my life and working at Hewlett Packard in Corvallis. In April of 2009 I was given the opportunity to leave HP and start a new career.
Currently I am going to college in pursuit of a Bachelor in Communication Studies with a double minor of Business and Entrepreneurship. When I left HP, I had planned to continue my education in the Medical field. However, life has a way of changing. My mother-in-law was in a horrible accident over the summer and suddenly I remember why I didn’t finish my education in the first place. It turns out I may still have a few issues with mortality, but more than anything I just want people to be healthy and happy. Unfortunately, healing takes time and I am too impatient to wait and devastated when the outcome is something less then optimal.
So after getting excited about a job I didn’t get, I realized that my HP and personal experience would best be complemented by a degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Business.
Rita, I liked this video. I have never seen this before. It makes you think doesn't it...
